Is NJ Senator Jeffrey Chiesa Biden’s ’1 of 5′ for Gun Control

NJ Senator Jeffrey Chiesa Is NJ Senator Jeffrey Chiesa Biden’s ’1 of 5' for Gun Control

National Association for Gun Rights National Association for Gun Rights

Colorado -–(Ammoland.com)- IRS abuse of political enemies. Massive spying on American citizens. Cover-ups in the deaths of Americans in Benghazi.

Barack Obama is awash in political scandals.

Yet what are Washington insiders talking about?

Finding someone to bailout President Obama’s failed anti-gun agenda.

They’re even saying that New Jersey brand new U.S. Senator, Jeffrey Chiesa, could be the key to making it happen.

Is NJ Senator Jeffrey Chiesa planning to advance the scandal-ridden administration’s efforts to abuse the rights of Americans by supporting the next wave of anti-gun legislation?

I hope not.

But recent reports have me very worried that Senator Chiesa might be the next to jump ship and sell us out.

You see, Vice President Joe Biden is claiming he’s found “at least five” new votes for gun control in the U.S. Senate.

Of course, he’s not saying who they are.

But it’s not hard to conclude that Senator Chiesa might be on the top of that list.

After all, as New Jersey’s state Attorney General, Jeff Chiesa launched a crusade to “buy back,” “melt down,” and “destroy” as many firearms in New Jersey as possible.

Since he’s already demonstrated how little he thinks of your Second Amendment rights in Trenton, I’m very worried he’ll play right into Senator Harry Reid’s hands in Washington.

This is very concerning.

You see, following the failure of the Toomey-Manchin national gun registration scheme in April, Barack Obama and Harry Reid were ticked off. ( Joe Biden almost cried at a press conference)

Radical anti-gunners like billionaire-playboy New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg set out to circle the wagons and punish every swing Senator that didn’t vote their way.

They’re trying to convince them that you want the government to further restrict your gun rights.

And some of them may fall for it.

Now the anti-gunners in the U.S. Senate are just a few votes shy of passing the next assault on your right to keep-and-bear arms.

If they can get New Jersy’s Senator Chiesa, they could put anti-gun legislation back on the fast track.

I’m talking about expanded federal background checks. So-called “gun trafficking” legislation. New mental health mandates.

It’s all still VERY alive.

You and I must not allow them to get away with these attempts to criminalize more law-abiding citizens and herd more gun owners into the federal NICS registration system.

The reality is, when anti-gun politicians talk about expanding “background checks,” what they really mean is expanding “gun registration.”

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out the only way to enforce “background checks” is to hand the feds a record of EVERY firearm transferred through a Federal Firearms Licensee.

Of course, the gun grabbers claim federal officials destroy every record in the system after a set time, but do you really trust Barack Obama or Eric Holder to do so?

I sure don’t.

After all, this is the same Administration currently embroiled in scandal after scandal — from the IRS abuse of political enemies, massive spying on American citizens and cover-ups in the deaths of Americans in Benghazi.

And not to mention the Fast and Furious scandal, where the Obama administration just looked the other way while bloodthirsty Mexican drug gangs funneled arms across the border resulting in the death of Border Patrol Agent, Brian Terry.

No American citizen who values their freedom should trust Barack Obama or Eric Holder after the outrages we’ve seen out of the Obama administration.

Right now, one of the biggest questions on the Hill is whether or not Jeffrey Chiesa will be the next to break ranks to bailout President Obama and his failed gun control bill.

This could get ugly.

Senator Chiesa could be the deciding vote to hand over thousands of records of law-abiding gun owners to Barack Obama and his power-abusing lieutenants.

That’s why I am doing everything I can to mobilize the resources of NAGR and every member and supporter in New Jersey to help convince Senator Jeff Chiesa not to sell you out.

When you’re done, please contact Senator Chiesa and urge him to OPPOSE any new anti-gun “deal.”

Senator Jeffrey Chiesa can be reached by telephone at:

*** (202) 224-3224

Remind him that gun owners in New Jersey and all over the country are watching his actions.

Insist he vote against each and every anti-gun bill, motion, proposal, or “deal” that Harry Reid tries to ram through.

Please do not wait.

Please act right away.

For Freedom,
Dudley Brown
Executive Vice President

Police Drop the Charges Against Jared Marcum & More in this Gun Owners of America Update

Gun Owners of America Gun Owners of America

Washington, DC --(Ammoland.com)- These and other victories remind us, once again, there’s much to be grateful for this Independence Day.

“I can’t thank Larry Pratt and Gun Owners enough for standing with Jared and his family during these difficult days.  You were there when we needed you.  GOA and GOF’s legal and financial support was critical to Jared’s defense, to blocking the gag order which the government asked for, and finally obtaining a dismissal of all charges against Jared.  Thank you for all you do and thanks for the GOA T-shirts!” — Ben White, attorney for Jared Marcum

Gun Owners of America wants to thank all of you who contributed to the Jared Marcum legal defense fund.

All charges have now been dropped against the West Virginia teenager, and Jared will not have a criminal record.

In April, the 14-year-old was ordered by a band teacher to change his T-shirt because the instructor did not like the shirt’s pro-gun message.  The shirt stated “protect your right” and pictured a rifle with a scope.

Jared was suspended from school, and later was arrested for “obstructing” an officer.  He faced a $500 fine and one year in jail.

The police then issued a gag order against the family and his attorney, preventing them from talking about the case.  And as if that wasn’t Orwellian enough, a reporter who tried to contest the gag order found herself being ejected from the courthouse.  The reason?

If you guessed “obstruction,” then you move to the head of the class!

All of this heavy-handedness on part of the police led Kurt Hofmann of the Examiner to say, “The Logan, West Virginia PD apparently has the most easily ‘obstructed’ police officers since the Keystone Cops.”

In the midst of all this, GOA helped ignite a national outrage after alerting activists two weeks ago to what was happening in the Mountain State.

Plus, Gun Owners Foundation quickly set up a legal defense fund to assist the attorney who was taking Jared’s case pro bono.

Thankfully, the case is now over, as the police dropped all charges against Jared Marcum on Thursday.

With this victory behind them, the Marcum family is now considering legal action against the school district.  GOA will be watching these efforts closely and will keep you updated.

In similar news, GOA is working with a Congressman in Washington to cut-off federal funds to any school district that imposes a zero-tolerance policy that punishes (e.g., suspends) children for wearing shirts containing a pro-gun message … or for playing cops-and-robbers during recess … or for turning their pop tarts into “weapons” … or extending their fingers to resemble a gun, etc.

Please stay tuned.

GOA wins initial victory on behalf of pro-gun sheriff

Gun Owners of America also won an initial skirmish in Wisconsin, where a sheriff has come under attack for his pro-gun views.

If you’ve heard the name David Clarke, you know that he is one of the most pro-gun sheriffs in the country.

Last month, GOA Executive Director Larry Pratt personally awarded the “High Noon Award” to Wisconsin’s Milwaukee County Sheriff David A. Clarke, Jr., for “standing for truth when others run, for telling the truth even though politically incorrect.”

In a public safety announcement earlier this year, Sheriff Clarke told viewers:

“With officers laid off and furloughed, simply calling 911 and waiting is no longer your best option. You can beg for mercy from a violent criminal, hide under the bed or you can fight back. But are you prepared?”

The ad ends with Clarke stating, “You have a duty to protect yourself and your family. We’re partners now. Can I count on you?”

Well, a panel on the Milwaukee Board of Supervisors tried to discriminate against Sheriff Clarke and punish him for his pro-gun views.  The committee did so by voting to restrict Sheriff David Clarke from appearing in any future public service announcements.

For the record, David Clarke has made several public service announcements, but they were never a problem until he cut the “pro-gun” advertisement.

Recognizing this for the sheer discrimination it is, Gun Owners of America immediately activated its grassroots network within the state and asked them to contact all the Board of Supervisors.

According to several media outlets, the GOA alert resulted in the Board being “flooded” and “inundated” with emails supporting Sheriff Clarke.

When politicians feel the heat … they see the light.

The full Board of Supervisors looked into the situation and sent the “gag order” resolution back to the committee.  So while it’s bottled up there for now, it means Sheriff Clarke is free to continue educating the public on their rights and responsibilities relating to self-defense.

Help celebrate Independence Day — and our recent victories — with a gift membership to GOA

You activism has helped us achieve tremendous victories this year.

In addition to the victories mentioned above, we were able to pull off one of the biggest activism coups in recent memory.

Don’t forget that seven months ago, after the Sandy Hook tragedy, the entire nation thought that new gun control restrictions were a foregone conclusion.  But you showed them that gun owners are passionate about their constitutional rights and that they are willing to make their voices heard!

As a result, we killed gun control in the Senate, and our Second Amendment rights were not infringed.

The Constitution – and the Declaration of Independence -- are two of the greatest documents ever produced by man.  But as you know, they are under relentless attack today.

With your help, however, we will continue to defend the “unalienable rights” endowed by our Creator and the protections that were passed down to us from our Founding Fathers.  In the Declaration, they clearly indicated their “firm reliance on the protection of divine Providence,” and 237 years later, we find ourselves doing the same to defend our gun rights.

Hence, it’s timely that we will be celebrating Independence Day in a few days.  In addition to the ways you may choose to celebrate, there’s one more that we would ask you to consider.

And that is to give your pro-gun family and friends a gift membership with Gun Owners of America.

When you do, you increase the voice of the most active grassroots gun lobby that is constantly on the front lines defending your rights.

The more activists who, like you, send their e-mails and postcards to their legislators … the louder your voice becomes in the halls of Congress.

To give a gift membership in Gun Owners of America, simply click on this link.

Once you click on the above link, fill in the information for your family members or friends.  You can then print out a Gift Certificate which you can present to the recipients of your generosity.
Thank you!

State Of The Birds Report Celebrates Private Landowners’ Contributions

Private landowners manage 60 percent of U.S. land area.

2013 State of the Birds Report State Of The Birds Report Celebrates Private Landowners’ Contributions

Ducks Unlimited Ducks Unlimited

WASHINGTON –-(Ammoland.com)- The fourth State of the Birds Report, released today, highlights the enormous contributions private landowners make to bird and habitat conservation, as well as opportunities for increased contributions.

Private landowners, organizations and corporations, including 2 million ranchers and farmers and approximately 10 million woodland owners, own and manage roughly 60 percent of the land area in the United States. Private lands are used by virtually all of the nation’s terrestrial and coastal birds, 251 of which are federally threatened, endangered or of conservation concern. Many privately owned working lands that produce food, timber and other resources for society also provide valuable habitat for birds.

“Ducks Unlimited has a long history of working with private landowners across the country to conserve and restore millions of acres of critical waterfowl and wildlife habitat,” said DU CEO Dale Hall. “This year’s State of the Birds Report proves that our nation’s birds can be used as an indicator of our effectiveness as stewards of the land. Landowners can add a new way to measure the productiveness of their land with the number of canvasbacks, gadwalls and pintails they see.”

The scientific data in this year’s report indicate a very high dependence on private lands among grassland, wetland and eastern forest birds, as well as the tremendous potential for bird conservation. More than 100 species have at least half of their U.S. breeding distributions on private lands.

“More than 90 percent of the land in DU’s number one priority area, the Prairie Pothole Region, is privately owned,” said DU Chief Conservation Officer Paul Schmidt. “The State of the Birds Report highlights the necessity of collaborating with farmers, ranchers and other private landowners to ensure their livelihood while conserving the waterfowl habitat that also results in cleaner water for everyone.”

The State of the Birds Report on Private Lands is a collaborative effort as part of the U.S. North American Bird Conservation Initiative, involving federal and state wildlife agencies, and scientific and conservation organizations. These include North American Bird Conservation Initiative, U.S. Committee, American Bird Conservancy, Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies, Cornell Lab of Ornithology, Ducks Unlimited, Klamath Bird Observatory, National Audubon Society, National Council for Air and Stream Improvement, Inc., The Nature Conservancy, Rocky Mountain Bird Observatory, University of Idaho, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, USDA Forest Service, USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service, and U.S. Geological Survey.

Il Gov. Quinn Plays Emperor With Citizens’ Civil Rights

Illinois Governor Pat Quinn Il Gov. Quinn Plays Emperor With Citizens’ Civil Rights

CCRKBA.org CCRKBA.org

BELLEVUE, WA – -(Ammoland.com)- Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn evidently believes someone elected him emperor of the Prairie State, considering his meddling with the state’s concealed carry legislation today, the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms said in reaction.

Gov. Quinn, using his amendatory veto authority, inserted his own gun control provisions in legislation adopted last month, including limiting the places where someone may carry, the number of cartridges someone can have in a defensive firearm and the level of concealment one must exercise, all in excess of the legislation passed by the State Legislature last month.

“This isn’t government of, by or for the people,” said CCRKBA Chairman Alan Gottlieb. “This is government by imperial fiat.”

State lawmakers have until July 9 2013 to override Quinn’s changes in the legislation, due to a federal court order secured in Moore v. Madigan, a case brought by CCRKBA’S sister organization, the Second Amendment Foundation.

“Quinn has taken it upon himself to dictate the level of safety a citizen can enjoy by placing an undue limit on the right to bear arms,” Gottlieb said. “Perhaps he should ask police officers to leave their spare ammunition at home.

“He wishes to stigmatize legally-armed citizens by making it nearly impossible for them to dine out with their families, friends or business associates,” he continued. “He puts the burden on business owners, churches and other venues to assure the court’s mandates are followed regarding the carrying of firearms.

“Quinn is playing petty politics with the lives of his constituents,” Gottlieb asserted, “and we hope Illinois lawmakers have the intestinal fortitude to override him when they return to Springfield next week for a one-day session.”

With more than 650,000 members and supporters nationwide, the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms is one of the nation’s premier gun rights organizations. As a non-profit organization, the Citizens Committee is dedicated to preserving firearms freedoms through active lobbying of elected officials and facilitating grass-roots organization of gun rights activists in local communities throughout the United States. A Girl And A Gun In the Midst of America’s Debate Over Gun Control, A New Documentary On Women & Firearms

A Girl And A Gun A Girl And A Gun

USA --(Ammoland.com)- Bringing a feminine perspective to the debate that’s currently raging across the nation, Cathryne Czubek’s new feature documentary A GIRL AND A GUN reveals how women have embraced an object whose history is deeply bound to men and masculinity.

Filmed throughout the U.S., the film delves deep into the psyche of the American gun world to show the complex relationship between American women and their guns.

Penetrating far beyond Hollywood’s hyper-sexualized femme fatales, A GIRL AND A GUN candidly explores the modern American woman through intimate portraits of several women that revolve around fundamental issues of preservation, power, feminism and violence. Punctuated with archival footage and expert commentary to provide a rich historical and cultural context, the film presents a complex and empowering perspective on a deadly serious issue.

The intimate and graphic portrayals in A GIRL AND A GUN are of women who’ve carved themselves a place in the gun community, but their personal journeys in one way or another reflect the same issues every woman faces today.

A GIRL AND A GUN will not end the nation’s decisive battle over the legality or availability of guns, but it does give voice to those American women, young and old, who have been affected by firearms or believe in the right to responsibly and legally possess firearms.

ABOUT THE DIRECTOR
Born in the South and raised in the Midwest, Director Cathryne Czubek grew up photographing and printing with her father in their darkroom at home. She eventually made her way to NYU to study politics yet decided to return to her photographic roots and earned an MFA at the School of Visual Arts. Massive Summer Firearms Auction Does Not Disappoint, $4.7 Million Dollars in Sales

World War II U.S. Singer Manufacturing Company Model 1911A1 Semi-Automatic pistol World War II U.S. Singer Manufacturing Company Model 1911A1 Semi-Automatic pistol

Rock Island Auction Company Rock Island Auction Company

Rock Island, IL --(Ammoland.com)- Rock Island Auction Company’s popular summer Regional Firearms Auction once again exceeds expectations by surmounting the sales high estimate by nearly $200,000 posting $4.7 million dollars in sales.

“Our Regional sales have truly become must participate sales within the gun collecting community” said Patrick Hogan, President and Owner of Rock Island Auction Company. “Nowhere else in the world is there the quantity, quality, and diversity of firearms up for auction with virtually no reserves. We had a 99% sell through rate this past weekend” added Hogan.

The sale contained nearly 6000 firearms and 2680 lots.

“The beauty of our regional sales stem from their overwhelming variety; everything from original Henry rifles, genuine Civil War carbines and muskets, World War II firearms and militaria, to large ammunition lots, knives and edged weapons, gun cleaning supplies to modern new in the box shotguns, rifles and pistols” said Laurence Thomson auctioneer and RIAC’s Executive Director of Operations. “The reason for such success is our ability to cater to this diverse clientele which extends from collectors, dealers, investment buyers to general firearms enthusiast and history buffs” added Thomson.

One of those genres in particular, which garnered tremendous interest, was the World War II arms. “It has been a growing trend for quite some time. Sitting on the podium and physically selling the items you get a real pulse for the collector market; in certain areas and over the past couple of years World War II firearms have really taken off” Said Jessica Tanghe fellow auctioneer and RIAC’s Executive Director of Client Services. In fact, lot number 1775 the Rare and Desirable World War II U.S. Singer Manufacturing Company Model 1911A1 Semi-Automatic pistol was the highlight of the auction estimated $9500-$15,000. Bidding was fierce from all over the room; in fact the entire globe as hands in the room started to go down and nearly a dozen phone bidders were reduced to two and then one as the lot commanded an impressive $40,250. Other notable results included lot 3706, a U.S. Union Switch & Signal Model 1911A1 Semi-Automatic pistol estimated $900-1300 which brought $4025. Lot 3711, a U.S. Ithaca Model 1911A1 Semi-Automatic pistol estimated $800-1300 went out the door for $2875. German Military firearms enjoyed comparable success such as lot 1552 Mauser “S/42? Code 1936 Dated Luger pistol with 1936 Dated Holster estimated $1300-1900 which brought $3162. Lot 1531, a World War II K98 Mauser Sniper rifle with ZF41 Sniper Scope Mount estimated $1400-2250 achieved $2587.

World War II items were only the beginning of this sensational weekend. As always Colts and Winchester outperformed their expectations yet again as highlights include Lot 1002, a New Haven Arms Co. Henry Lever Action rifle estimated $7500-12,000 which rang the bell at $23,000. Lot 1005, a Deluxe Winchester Model 1886 Lever Action rifle in 50 Express Caliber estimated $4500-7500 achieved an impressive $8625. As for Colt’s, lot 3232, an Engraved Antique Colt Single Action Army revolver estimated $4000-6000 brought $6325. Lot 1123, an Antique Colt Single Action Army revolver with U.S. Holster estimated $2000-3000 achieved $4887, while lot 1276, a Colt Model 1855 Revolving Military rifle estimated $850-1300 quadrupled its high estimate bringing a staggering $4600.

Over the duration of the weekend Hogan estimates over 700 people registered to bid live while untold thousands submitted absentee bids via online, sealed, and telephone bidding. That massive number of bidders equates to nearly 16,000 individual bids on 2680 lots, meaning each item had on average 6 individual parties.

Other highlights of the sale include lot 1293, a Winchester Factory Custom Shop Engraved Model 21 Shotgun with Three Gauge (20/28/410), Three Barrel Set estimated $12,000-18,000 which brought $20,700. The interview takes us through a few different types of competitions that Annette has been involved in.

>Annette gives us insight into how she got into the shooting world.  Her husband helped get her interested and then before she knew it she was winning competitions.  She explains how she had to take a hiatus from competing due to economic issues in 1984, but came back in the year 2000.

Things had changed since she’d last shot, so she had to decide what type of gun to shoot.  We learn how a friend of hers helped her decide to stick with the revolver.

Annette discusses how exactly she got into the Icore competition format.  She even hosts her own matches and lets us know where to go to compete at her own Icore matches.  She then explains the differences between Icore and USPSA.  We hear how Julie and Annette met at a Babes with Bullets camp and how that turned into Annette becoming a fellow representative for Smith and Wesson.  It wasn’t long before Annette became an instructor for Babes with Bullets herself.  She tells us a little about what those camps are like.

The interview rounds out with a little more discussion on USPSA, Icore, and Sportsman’s Team Challenges and what shooting with her husband Elliot has been like.  At the very end of the show Annette answers questions from some fans.  Email your own questions to ladies@gungirlradio.com.  Listen to the entire episode at www.gungirlradio.com/021/ or subscribe to the show on iTunes.

Randy Newberg from On Your Own Adventures Federal Premium Ammunition Presents Fresh Tracks with Randy Newberg

FederalPremium.com FederalPremium.com

ANOKA, Minn. --(Ammoland.com)- Federal Premium Ammunition is pleased to announce its title sponsorship of Fresh Tracks with Randy Newberg.

The all-new TV program will debut on Sportsman Channel in July.

The series is hosted by Randy Newberg from On Your Own Adventures. He is one of the most accomplished and knowledgeable public-land hunters in America. Fresh Tracks continues the self-guided public land hunting theme that fans have come to love in On Your Own Adventures, yet tells that story in a deeper and more personal format.

“This is a new style and new format for telling the story of the American hunter,” Newberg said. “For an entire season, viewers will follow our crew as they travel to vast tracts of amazing public lands in the United States, facing all the challenges that come with self-guided hunting. We let the viewer see it all, successful or not. We are not only hunters while in the field; we are also hunters year-round in our advocacy and conservation work.”

Newberg illustrates the lifestyle of the American hunter, living his passion all day, every day, whether at home, in the field, or on the road, and bringing that story to the viewer with new hunts every week. Everyday hunters can relate to this new program because it shows everything that happens in a season: the hits and the misses.

“Hunting in America is an amazing story that needs to be told in all aspects, when things go good or when they go bad,” Newberg said. “This is my story, and it’s very personal. It’s full of passion and commitment.”

All-new episodes of Federal Premium’s Fresh Tracks with Randy Newberg start in July on Sportsman Channel. The show airs Thursday at 8:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m., Friday at 6 a.m., and Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. (EST).

About Fresh Tracks with Randy Newberg
The show takes viewers through a year in the life of one of America’s most dedicated, hard-core hunters-someone who lives hunting 24/7.
